Owned by Mark Short, the PropStop entertainment blog has educated and entertained readers since 2011 and now has expanded in a new format; a website where the items belonging to the owner can be enjoyed in a virtual museum, articles linked to our blog can be read and lastly selected items from the collection are available to purchase.

Mark started his love of film at a young age, in fact his first film memory is that of “Silent Running” in the mid 1970’s. After working in one of England’s oldest cinemas in his teens, he proceeded to become part of film and television industry, quickly discovering the fascinating world of “Prop Culture”  - In 1988 he purchased a belt buckle from Dr. Who, his first prop, from a sci-fi convention.

Now residing in the USA Mark, travels the world sourcing props and wardrobe from yesterday and todays iconic film and tv productions. Mark has handled and brought to market tens of thousands of items of memorabilia and are now homed in private collections, archives and museums all across the globe.

“Am I an expert?"

In Mark's own words no.  However, he has been a successful writer for the last couple decades. Tasked with hundreds of industry examinations and reports used by potential buyers and sellers on various items to ascertain their condition and value; including consulting for world renowned prop houses and auctioneers.

Additionally since 2018 Mark has been an on show expert for MeTV's "Collector's Call" (hosted by Lisa Welchel). Having appeared on 9 episodes to date covering collections of memorabilia, Star Trek, Dr. Who, vintage Halloween masks, spy gear, and more.

Mark's vision with the PropStop is to bring the joy he has experienced collecting to people all across the world.
